Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution is a life simulation developed and published by Quasar in 2018. It simulates natural selection, allowing players to control the evolution of various species with mutation and selection forces.
In Layman's terms, the game is best described as Spore but more terrifying.

Vinny first played the v0.6.0 and v0.7.0 alpha versions of Species back in 2013, and revisited the game after it was released on Steam in 2018. In the highlights of the latter, Vinny plays god over an island of primordial meats. Given his lack of understanding of evolutionary biology, many of his meat creatures either died or turned into horrific phallic monsters. He attempts to make an Attenborough-style documentary, but eventually gives up and kills off all the creatures into extinction.
